Around the State in Seven Days

So many great happenings lately.

Last month (Sept. 2011) I filmed an AMAZING guest spot on the show “The Closer” starring Kyra Sedgewick, and also guest starring was Elizabeth Perkins who plays my mom!  I can’t begin to describe what an amazing experience that was for me, being surrounded by such a talented cast and crew.  The director for the episode was Nelson McCormick, and he is hands down one of the best directors I have had the pleasure of working with.  I walked away from the whole thing feeling so very blessed and excited for it to air, not to mention excited to continue getting opportunities to work with such great people. THAT is one reason why I love what I do, and I can’t get enough of it!

The Closer is in the final season after being on for seven and my episode will air sometime around December (or so I gathered from all the christmas decorations hung up in the “police station”).

Last week, I shot and wrapped an incredible Honda commercial, with as many equally talented people.  The best part about this was that I got to travel all around California and see places I never would have thought to see before – Monterey Bay, The Golden Gate Bridge, Lake Tahoe, Half Moon Bay; it was definitely one of those experiences that will stay with me forever, and I am very lucky to have been a part of the project.  I can’t reveal much else about it, but will let you know when the spot airs closer to the end of 2011.  After that, I traveled to San Diego and shot a San Diego Gas and Electric Commercial – great director there too.  I was TOTALLY exhausted by the time I arrived in San Diego after being on the road driving for a week, but it was well worth it.  I can’t help but stand back and be completely thankful for every blessing that has been coming my way.  It is really true what they say, hard work and perseverance DOES pay off, even if sometimes it seems like it takes forever. Just keep plugging away, because eventually everything you dreamed about will fall into its right place.

I will keep y’all posted on what’s to come! I’m super excited.

Thank you to those who constantly have been in my corner and always support me – I couldn’t get through the “in-between”, or anything else for that matter, without you.

love always,

ALC

What a Weekend!

Happy May Everyone!

Just wanted to say thanks to everyone who went out and saw “Prom” for its opening weekend!

I got to spend 3 days in New York City for the PROMGIRL.COM Times Square takeover!  The people at PromGirl were sooo very nice and hospitable, I was sad to leave.  We took over the Regal theatre in Times Square, where 200 girls won a contest to watch the film, get awesome gift bags, and have their chance at a raffle for their own dream prom! It was such a great event and super fun to hear everyone’s reactions to the movie while it was playing.

They were also treated to a few songs by the talented and downright adorable up-and-coming country singer Savvanah Berry! If you haven’t heard of her yet, you will. She is 15 and is a singer songwriter and has the most amazing tone to her voice, and the best part is she was the nicest, humblest person.  Check out Savvanh Berry’s website.

Also they were treated to “prom” style photos with me and PROM’s leading male Thomas McDonnell.  Here are a couple pictures from this superfun event!

Next up I flew back to LA to hit up the Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival Red Carpet where I got to watch an amazing indie film called “One Kine Day” directed by Chuck Mitsui and shot and filmed on a Red Camera in the beautiful Hawai’i.  Standouts from the movie need to be mentioned: Christa B. Allen (13 going on 30, Ghosts of Girlfriends Past) absolutely blew my mind with her incredible perfomance as a teenager that finds out she is pregnant.  She is definitely one to watch out for.  Also, worthy of a huge mention, was the film’s Lead Villian and my co-host on the podcast, KERAMCAST.COM, Keram Malicki-Sanchez.  He stole the scene whenever he was on screen as a believable crazed “bad guy” named Vegas Mike who definitly stood out in Hawai’i like a sore thumb. :)  The movie overall was refreshing and fun to watch.

Next up I will be filming a comedic pilot this spring, more details to come.  And Chromeskull: LAID TO REST 2, in which I have a pretty fun role, got a release for September 2011!

Meanwhile, I’m in the studio writing away at songs, and hope to have some new tracks available soon.

Lots of fun things in the air for this spring!  I will be sure to keep you posted along the way!

For now, Enjoy your week!

And go see PROM! you will love it.

Happy Thanksgiving!!!

I am thankful.
For the sun when I wake up, and am feeling blue.
For when the day’s been too long and I need the moon.
Thankful for the moon, who doesn’t let me down, but still, for the clouds that sometimes come around.
Thankful for the car I’m blessed to drive, and the mom that made me be alive, and the sisters and brothers she gave to me, and the fact they love me unconditionally.
I’m thankful for the friends that I have,
And the thoughts I remember of my dad.  And the fact that when I ever get too down, those friends are always close around.
I’m thankful for the strangers that
Tell me things I may forget,
even though they don’t know me and we’ve barely met.
I’m thankful for the choices I sometimes make….whether good or bad they are never a mistake.
I’m thankful for my LOVE!!  I love so much, and the love I so consistently feel, it’s something special and makes me feel real.
I’m thankful really being alive, for the goals I attain and the hope that I strive. For the persistence to forge ahead,
and to realize my dreams are never dead.
And I thank whoever is reading this, and urge you to always follow your bliss.
Cuz’ time is short in this beautiful place….and we all deserve a happy face.
Happy Thanksgiving everyone.
I hope you all realize, even in a small way, how very blessed you are.
Xoxooxoxo
Much love.

Aimee’s Fall 2010 Updates

WOW. So I’ve officially been the WORST blogger and updater of this thing, and I do apologize.  Life has just been non-stop since August. Lots of awesome things to update you on!

Prom wrapped in September, and it was such a fun shoot to work on.  Everyone was so nice, and I just had the best time.  It will be coming to theaters April 11th, 2011..so stay tuned!

I finished filming Laid to Rest 2 this past week, which was bloody and awesome!!!!  The folks at “Almost Human” are probably some of the coolest cats I’ve ever worked with.

Also, stepped in the studio and recorded a new song that I have written, with producer Chey Alexander Wright.  It was so fun! I always have a blast in the studio, and getting to hear my words and ideas played back to me is just an incredibly fulfilling feeling.

Our little short that could, “A Killer App” just won BEST MONSTER CREATION at the 2010 SHOCKFEST Festival in Hollywood.  I was beyond thrilled to get to accept this award with my name on it!! The best part was it was a bottle of “eternal life” booya! who couldn’t use a bottle of that??

Summer Update!

I can’t believe it is already mid July! Time sure does fly when you’re having fun!

Summer has been great so far, I just finished a 3 day shoot for an AT&T commercial.  I met soooo many wonderful actors on that set, and the directing team was amazing. We had a lot of fun.

Up next, I am filming a Disney movie called “Prom”.  I start in a couple of weeks and I can’t wait!  There is nothing like being on set!

I also was just a guest with my fellow KERAMCAST.COM host Keram Malicki-Sanchez, on a podcast called “THE SECOND COLUMN PODCAST” .  It is hilarious! You can listen to it here.  and discover things about Keram and I, you may have not known before.

Also in exciting news, In a few days, I am throwing in my apron and calorie counting, to start 31 days of “THE FRESH DIET”!  It will be like I have my own personal chef for a whole month! If you don’t know what The Fresh Diet is, you should check out their website, and follow them on facebook. The Fresh Diet provides the right balance of food in proper portions to help you lose weight, feel energetic, and maintain proper health.  Your meals are delivered the night before, freshly cooked for the next day!   I plan on updating my progress at least once a week here, so check back if you are interested in seeing what it is like.  I basically wanted to try it out, to get in the habit of eating more small, balanced meals a day, that are healthy and low in gluten, and all the bad stuff.  It’s a pretty rad program.

So that is what is up with me so far this summer! In between auditions, and recording in the studio, I have been one busy bee.  Can’t wait for my yearly pilgrimige to the East coast around my birthday, that will make for a perfect summer.

Stay Tuned, Stay Cool.

much love,

ALC
